Alison and Mark’s wedding took place at the elegant and chic Shangri-La Hotel which is right in the heart downtown Toronto.
It was a perfect spring day so the couple did their first look on the balcony overlooking the city. It was then a short walk to Osgoode Hall where we took their portraits. I love this location for its beautiful architecture, stonework, seasonal gardens and passing streetcars that capture the essence of Toronto.
I had previously photographed Alison and Mark’s maternity and newborn portraits of their young son, Jacob, who was also a ring-bearer at the wedding. He and the flower girl arrived on a gorgeous hand-crafted wooden wagon that was pulled by the older flower girls. It was a very sweet moment! Officiated by my favourite wedding celebrant, Jeremy Citron, the ceremony was sentimental, funny and emotional.
The rest of the evening reflected the couples classy and elegant vibe, from the amazing culinary experience provided by the Shangri-La to the gorgeously decorated reception room, thanks to Opening Night Flowers.
To top it off, we took a short break from the party and stepped outside onto University Ave to take one of my favourite night portraits.
