The first thing I noticed about Debbie and Stefan is how low-key and chilled out they are, this vibe was present throughout their wedding day.
We arranged for a first-look at the underpass at Dovercourt Road and Geary Ave which features a mural of the Johnny Cash lyrics “Because you’re mine, I walk the line” which was a sentimental spot for them. I loved the incorporation of a gritty train bridge and all the lovely textures of the murals.
We then headed to Earlscourt Park where they planned to meet their newly adopted dog, Frankie, who had quickly become an important part of their family. The weather started to turn on us as we arrived at the park but this did concern the couple at all. Debbie wasn’t worried about her shoes while walking through grass and was happy to snuggle underneath an umbrella when needed. The fall colours in the park were gorgeous so it was well worth it.
Their ceremony and reception were both held at Davenport-Perth Community Church. It was a beautifully casual event which suited the couple perfectly. Their concept was to get married then have a big old pizza and dance party! They ordered tonnes of pizza from North of Brooklyn, mini bundtini cakes from Nothing Bundt Cake and Timbits, yes Timbits!
The dance party that followed was definitely the best I’ve seen in a while. Pretty much everyone, young and old, was on the dance floor the whole time we were there. The energy was high, the music was loud and they partied long into the night.
