Julia & Kevin – Married at the Eglinton Grand – Toronto, ON

Lights, Cameras, Action. The Eglinton Grand provided the perfect backdrop for red carpet moments for
Julia and Kevin’s big day. With Art Deco fixtures and old Hollywood glamour, Julia and Kevin selected a
tongue in cheek take on their custom film-themed marquee – Crazy Poor Asians, something many broke
newlyweds can relate to.

Having been restored to its original 1936 grandeur, this former movie theatre is now a historic landmark
and charming event space. The Eglinton Grand features massive chandeliers, hand-carved statues,
striking period furniture, and is adorned with mahogany wood, setting the stage for cinema-infused
memories. The blush and blue colour palette selected for the wedding party’s dresses and décor accents
paired beautifully, providing a fresh and balanced accent to the lavish venue.

While a photoshoot at Alexander Muir Gardens was on the schedule, the weather had other plans
bringing in pouring rain. While many couples see rain on their wedding day as a negative, the laid- back
couple took this in stride choosing to embrace the adage of rain on your wedding day being a sign of
good luck. The picturesque venue with its authentic movie theatre entrance furnished an elegant location,
and awning for photos to remember. One of my favourite shots from the day was a Vanity Fair inspired group
shot of the bride, groom, and their wedding party on the balcony.

Getting ready for the event, Julia’s friends provided a calm and relaxing time for the bride-to-be, while
Kevin and his groomsmen enjoyed a boisterous and fun time getting ready while enjoying some beer and
a couple of shots.

Great films offer sweetness, emotion, and some humour, all incorporated into Julia and Kevin’s ceremony
and heartfelt speeches.

The cocktail reception was held in the luxurious surroundings of the venue’s balcony. All eyes were on
the couple as the curtain was drawn and they enjoyed their perfectly choreographed first dance in the
ballroom below. It didn’t take long for the other guests to follow suit, as the evening unfolded with a lively
and vibrant dance floor with nearly everyone cutting a rug.

Later in the evening, the entire wedding party went outside for some moon-lit portraits at the uptown
Toronto venue. The night concluded as it should, with a classic Hollywood style dip and kiss.
