I’ve known Jeremiah for many years through the great Toronto record store Sonic Boom where he and my husband used to work together. It’s always so much fun to photograph couples that you know and be around guests that you know too. I have also shot at The Old Mill probably more than any other wedding venue in Toronto so it’s nice to have a sense of familiarity and knowledge of the grounds.
The wedding was scheduled to take place outdoors in the Wedding Garden but unfortunately some light rain earlier in the day left it a little too waterlogged. All the indoor rooms at the Old Mill are beautiful and carry the same classic charm as the rest of the grounds, so the ceremony looked beautiful and was touching and sweet.
The cocktail reception and dinner were in the Garret Room and Victoria Room which were perfect for this smaller, more intimate wedding celebration. The speeches were both hilarious and sentimental.
I would expect nothing less than a crazy, rockin’ dance party with the best music out there knowing Jeremiah and Nicole’s musical taste. The DJs were also employees of Sonic Boom so came with the best selection of vinyl for the occasion. I even got to put down the cameras at the end of the night and join them on the dance floor!
