L’amour était dans l’air (love was in the air) for Sandy and Patrick’s August wedding in
Richmond Hill. The French and English-speaking couple paid tribute to their bilingual
roots in a beautiful summer celebration supported by many loving childhood and high
school friends in their wedding party. Their service was held at Saint-Louis-De-France
post-ceremony photos at the stunning Richmond Green Park,
and their lively, fun-filled reception closed out the night at St. George Centre.
The timing of the photoshoot couldn’t have been better as the sun cast a soft golden filtered
light over the entire wedding party at the picturesque Richmond Green. One of the most
impressive features of this outdoor venue is its gorgeous waterfall, the perfect backdrop for
some of Sandy and Patrick’s first photos as newlyweds.
The pastel colour palette selected for the wedding festivities paired nicely with the softness of
late summer. Elegant rose and gold accents were seen in the bride’s accessories, wedding
invitations, and stationery. Sandy was striking in her crisp, white, lace adorned gown with
intricate open back. The bridesmaids wore light lavender dresses and the groomsmen,
coordinating tuxedos featuring matching lavender details. The fun-loving friends helped keep
everything light and fun during the photoshoot and throughout the day.
The day was filled with inside jokes, laughter, love, and even an impromptu conga line. During
the reception, guests were treated to two show-stopping choreographed numbers. The
first, was Sandy and Patrick’s first dance as a married couple, to Michael Bubble’s song,
“Everything”, paired with dry ice for added dramatic and romantic effect, perfect for black and
white photography. Later, two of the groomsmen entertained everyone with a spirited rendition of
Dean Martin’s “Aint That a Kick in the Head”. They are both very talented performers!
The late summer sun offered a dazzling sunset, so I took the Sandy and Patrick outside for some
additional portraits. The creative couple brought along sparklers so we were able to cap off the
evening by creating some unique illuminated shots of the couple.
