Vi and Sam\u2019s autumn wedding was a whirlwind of activity as we travelled the corners of the GTA to capture the festivities. With boundless energy, we began our day at the bride\u2019s family home in Kitchener at sunrise, attended the groom\u2019s familial home in North York for a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony, the Good Sheppard Community Church<\/a> in Scarborough for an intimate wedding ceremony, and capped off the day with an elaborate 10-course Chinese feast at Very Fair Seafood Cuisine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following tradition, Sam and his groomsmen provided offerings for the big day, including a whole roasted pig to present to the bride\u2019s family, and completed a variety of \u201cdoor game\u201d challenges with the goal of getting through the door towards his waiting bride. The light-hearted competition included difficult trivia questions with various penalties. Each time Sam gave an incorrect answer one of his groomsmen had to step up and take a penalty such as drinking various stomach-turning concoctions. The groomsmen later picked up Sam and carried him through an obstacle course towards Vi.<\/p>\n

Next, the couple participated in two traditional Chinese Wedding Tea Ceremonies<\/a> honouring their parents and relatives and celebrating the union of their respective families. Red, gold, white, and dark copper d\u00e9cor, alongside vibrant floral arrangements perfectly accented the occasion and Vi\u2019s stunning red and gold dress. In a change of venue and wedding day attire, a small group of about 20 close friends and family members attended the Good Sheppard Community Church for a simple and sweet Christian ceremony. The bride glowed in a classic, long, white, spaghetti strapped gown with intricate lace on the back, while the groom looked dapper in his three-piece suit. The bridesmaids wore warm peach, and the wedding party flowers were a combination of rosy blush, white, and orange.<\/p>\n

Despite the blustery October day, the wedding party braved the wind and cold to get a few photos outside of the church following the ceremony. Next, Sam and Vi went to Milliken Park<\/a> for portraits, enjoying the fall colours as a backdrop.<\/p>\n

At Very Fair Seafood Cuisine guests enjoyed mouth-watering food, moving speeches, karaoke performances, including a performance by the groom himself, and an \u2018informative\u2019 newlywed edition of The Shoe Game. The evening featured some limbo dancing on the lively dance floor.<\/p>\n

Over the course of the festivities, Vi and Sam visited each table of guests for Gan Bei<\/a> toasts (meaning dry glass or Cheers) to commemorate their union.<\/p>\n

Since the wedding, Vi and Sam have welcomed a beautiful baby girl into their family. It’s hard to believe she was actually 6-month pregnant on their wedding day. Congratulations Vi and Sam!<\/p>\n
