Additional Info:
Maternity: Maternity shoots are best taken 6-8 weeks before the due date. For outdoor sessions; bright, solid-coloured maxi or flowy dresses and skirts look nice. For indoor; have a variety of black, white and solid-coloured, form-fitting clothing and any fabrics/shawls you might have. Black bra & underwear look best if you plan on having semi-nudes taken. Have a few options available so we can pick and choose the best outfit for each set-up.
Newborn: Newborn sessions are best taken within 2 weeks of birth. Try to keep your baby awake a few hours before our shoot so they will be sleepy and easier to pose. Have 2-3 outfits for the baby and any hats/accessories/blankets/props you might have. I will bring some baskets, blankets and wraps. Parents should wear dark, neutral clothing. We will shoot in the main bedroom and any other areas with nice lighting so keep those areas free of clutter.
Family: It’s not necessary to all wear matching outfits but it is important to make sure your outfits are colour-coordinated. Pick a theme (earth tones, jewel tones, pastels, cool or warm colours etc) and stick with solid colours or light patterns. Avoid busy patterns, logos and picture t-shirts. It’s also best to avoid black or white as they can look a bit dull. Have fun with it, colour can make the photos pop. Bring a change of clothes for the kids, just in case. Bring snacks to keep young kids happy. Bring toys/activities to encourage more candid photos.
