To make the most of their time with family and friends after the ceremony, the couple chose to complete their portrait session beforehand. This thoughtful decision allowed them to enjoy their reception without interruption later in the evening.
A Heartfelt First Look at Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens
Before the ceremony, we met at Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens for Allison and Brian’s first look. The setting was perfect for a grand reveal, and the moment they saw each other for the first time was incredibly emotional.
It was easily one of my favourite first-look moments to photograph. Allison admitted she was feeling quite nervous beforehand, but the instant Brian turned around, you could see those nerves melt away. Their reactions were full of genuine love and excitement, setting the tone for the rest of the day.
Cocktail Hour and a Beautifully Intimate First Dance
Following their emotional ceremony, Allison and Brian spent time mingling with guests during cocktail hour. Soon after, the doors to the grand dining hall opened to reveal a truly special moment.
The couple was already on the dance floor, sharing their first dance together while their guests watched from the surrounding balcony. The effect was stunning, creating a sense that Allison and Brian were alone in their own little world while their loved ones looked on. It was an intimate and unforgettable way to begin the reception.
A Lively Reception with the The Dave Murphy Band
The celebration continued with incredible live music from the The Dave Murphy Band, who kept the dance floor packed all night long. Their high-energy performance helped create an atmosphere that was both elegant and wildly fun.
One of the most touching moments of the evening came when one of Allison’s bridesmaids surprised everyone with a guest vocal performance. Her heartfelt song brought many guests to tears and added another unforgettable highlight to an already emotional day.
