Playful Family Photos at Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens | Toronto Family Photographer

I first met these two when they were planning their wedding, and now here we are a few years later, chasing their energetic two-year-old through the beautiful Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens. Watching my wedding couples become parents is one of the greatest joys of this job.

Their little boy had one main goal for the session: have fun. He wanted to run, be chased, and most importantly, be tossed high up into the air over and over again. And honestly? That made for the best kind of photos.

Instead of stiff poses, we leaned into movement. Dad did plenty of lifting and tossing. Mom ran hand-in-hand down the garden paths. There was lots of laughter, quick cuddles between sprints, and those sweet in-between moments where he would pause just long enough to flash a mischievous grin.

Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens was the perfect backdrop. The lush greenery, winding paths, and bursts of colour created a soft, natural setting that allowed this family’s playful dynamic to shine. The gardens have such a peaceful feel—but with a two-year-old in charge, it quickly became a joyful adventure.
