Nadine and Greg were married on a beautiful summer day in Toronto, celebrating with a classic Hollywood-inspired wedding at the historic Eglinton Grand. From their movie-stub invitations and vintage-inspired décor to the venue’s iconic marquee and 1930s glamour, every detail came together to create a wedding that felt elegant, nostalgic and completely their own.
A Classic Toronto Wedding at St. Gregory Armenian Catholic Church
The wedding day began with a beautiful ceremony at St. Gregory Armenian Catholic Church, followed by portraits and an evening reception at the Eglinton Grand.
After the ceremony, we headed to Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens for the couple’s wedding portraits. This is one of my favourite locations for Toronto wedding photography. The gardens have a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere and are beautifully maintained throughout the season.
The lavender gardens are particularly spectacular in the summer, providing a fragrant and romantic setting for wedding portraits. On this day, the light was perfect for soft, golden photographs, while the historic stone walls added an architectural element that worked beautifully with Nadine and Greg’s vintage Hollywood theme.
Wedding Portraits at Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens
For couples looking for beautiful outdoor wedding portraits in Toronto, Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens offers a lovely combination of gardens, greenery, stonework and natural light.
The golden summer light gave Nadine and Greg’s portraits a romantic, almost cinematic quality — perfectly suited to the classic movie theme they had chosen for their wedding.
A Hollywood-Inspired Wedding at the Eglinton Grand
From the gardens, we headed to the Eglinton Grand, one of Toronto’s most distinctive wedding venues. Originally opened in the 1930s, the venue has preserved much of its original glamour and Art Deco-inspired character, making it a natural choice for a vintage Hollywood wedding.
One of the fun details at the Eglinton Grand is the customizable marquee sign, giving couples the opportunity to literally put their names in lights for the evening.
The venue also offers a dramatic curtain reveal for the first dance, adding another wonderfully theatrical moment to the celebration.
Nadine and Greg’s movie-inspired details, vintage décor and glamorous venue all came together beautifully. Even their invitations were designed as classic movie ticket stubs, setting the tone for the entire day.
Armenian Wedding Traditions, Dancing and Celebration
The reception was full of energy, laughter and celebration. There were hilarious speeches, Armenian dancing, spontaneous ululations and plenty of cheering from their family and friends.
It was one of those receptions where the energy in the room continued to build throughout the evening, creating lots of genuine, candid moments to photograph.
A Classic Eglinton Grand Night Portrait
We ended the evening outside beneath the glowing Eglinton Grand marquee for a classic nighttime wedding portrait.
With Nadine and Greg’s names illuminated above them, it was the perfect final photograph for a wedding inspired by classic Hollywood — dramatic, romantic and unmistakably Toronto.
From the Armenian Catholic ceremony to golden-hour portraits at Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens and a glamorous evening at the Eglinton Grand, Nadine and Greg’s wedding was a wonderful celebration filled with vintage elegance, family, culture and plenty of fun.
