The Gladstone Hotel is one of my favourite downtown Toronto venues for couples planning an intimate, colourful, and personality-filled wedding. Located in the heart of Queen Street West, this iconic boutique hotel blends historic charm with bold, artistic design—making it a dream location for modern Toronto wedding photography.
Gladstone Hotel Wedding Venue in Downtown Toronto
Each room at the Gladstone Hotel is uniquely designed, featuring exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, and oversized picture windows that overlook the vibrant energy of Queen St West. The venue spans multiple floors, each offering its own visual personality and creative details.
From a bright blue pool table and eclectic, kitschy furniture to rotating local artwork and the hotel’s iconic antique elevator, the Gladstone provides endless opportunities for dynamic, story-driven wedding photos. It’s a perfect fit for couples who want their wedding day to feel stylish, relaxed, and anything but traditional.
A Colourful and Unique Wedding at the Gladstone Hotel
Paula and Steven embodied the colourful, creative spirit of the venue perfectly. Steven’s bright blue suit, paired with a bold shirt and cheerful yellow bowtie, was a confident and playful style choice that stood out beautifully against the hotel’s textured interiors. Paula matched that energy effortlessly with her vibrant personality and radiant smile—together, they truly suited the space to a tee.
Their wedding was intentionally intimate, with a tightly curated guest list made up of immediate family and close friends. The ceremony felt warm and personal, followed by celebratory champagne toasts filled with laughter and genuine connection.
Queen Street West Wedding Photos Around the Gladstone
After the ceremony, I took Paula and Steven for portraits in and around the Gladstone Hotel. One of the things I love most about photographing weddings here is the sheer variety of backdrops—all within a very short walk.
From dramatic interior spaces and stairwells to the character-rich streets of Queen Street West just outside the doors, the area offers an incredible range of looks without ever feeling rushed. It’s ideal for couples who want diverse, editorial-style wedding photos while keeping the flow of the day relaxed and intimate.
Paula and Steven’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that when a couple’s personality aligns perfectly with their venue, the result is pure magic.
