This family travelled all the way from the Netherlands and spent an entire month exploring Canada with their two young children. Between road trips, new cities, and everyday moments far from home, they wanted one thing that would last long after the suitcases were unpacked — a family photo shoot to remember their time here.
When they asked me to suggest a Toronto location that felt most representative of Canada, Toronto Island was an easy choice. With its open green spaces, sandy paths, lake views, and uninterrupted skyline, it offers that perfect mix of nature and city — a very Canadian contrast. It also has a calm, playful atmosphere that’s ideal for small kids to explore freely.
We spent the session wandering along the island paths, letting the kids run, laugh, and be themselves. No rushing, no posing — just genuine moments of connection against one of Toronto’s most iconic backdrops. The result was a collection of images that felt relaxed, joyful, and true to this chapter of their journey.
For families visiting from abroad (or even locals seeing the city with fresh eyes), Toronto Island is a beautiful place to slow down and create memories that feel timeless — and this session was a perfect reminder of that.
