Julia & Kevin’s Elegant Wedding at the Eglinton Grand | Toronto Wedding Photography

Julia and Kevin’s wedding day was the perfect blend of glamour, laughter, and heartfelt emotion, set against the iconic backdrop of the The Eglinton Grand. Even a torrential downpour couldn’t dampen the celebration—if anything, it added a little extra drama to an already unforgettable day.

The morning began with the couple getting ready separately. Julia spent the early hours at her parents’ home surrounded by her bridesmaids—and one very proud bridesman—sharing laughs, mimosas, and those quiet pre-ceremony moments that make wedding mornings so special. Meanwhile, Kevin and his groomsmen got ready at his Toronto condo, enjoying a relaxed start (and perhaps a shot of something strong) before the day’s excitement began.

The plan had been for Julia and Kevin to share their first look at the beautiful Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens. But just as we arrived, the skies opened, and torrential rain began pouring down, and it didn’t stop for the rest of the evening. Luckily, their venue had the perfect backup. The grand marquee outside The Eglinton Grand provided a stunning covered space for their first-look reveal and wedding party photos without anyone getting soaked. The vintage architecture made for a cinematic setting, and we continued with more portraits inside the venue’s breathtaking art-deco interior.

The ceremony itself was a beautiful mix of humour and heartfelt emotion. Julia and Kevin both fought back tears throughout the vows, and more than a few guests were wiping their eyes as well. The atmosphere perfectly reflected the couple – joyful, genuine, and deeply connected.

After the ceremony, guests mingled over cocktails and appetizers. One of the most dramatic moments of the evening came shortly after: Julia and Kevin’s first dance reveal. As guests gathered, the curtains to the main hall slowly opened, revealing the couple alone on the dance floor under a single spotlight. The cinematic reveal drew huge cheers from the crowd and set the tone for the celebration to follow.

Dinner was filled with heartfelt and hilarious speeches that had the couple alternating between laughter and a little bit of playful embarrassment. Each toast shared stories about Julia and Kevin that made it clear just how loved they are by their family and friends.

Later in the evening, Julia made a surprise wardrobe change, returning in a more casual cocktail dress to perform a special dance with her father. The fun continued with the classic Newlywed Shoe Game, which revealed just how well the couple know each other.

Once the dance floor opened, the party was in full swing. But before the night ended, we stepped back outside for some nighttime portraits beneath the glowing marquee of The Eglinton Grand. The sign had been customized to read “Crazy Poor Asians Starring Julia & Kevin” a playful nod to the beloved film Crazy Rich Asians and the couple’s joke that they were now “poor” after hosting such an incredible wedding!
