First Look at Black Creek Pioneer Village
We planned a romantic first-look reveal at Black Creek Pioneer Village, one of my favourite locations for wedding portraits in Toronto. The rustic charm of the village created the perfect contrast against the wedding party’s refined, elegant style. The timing couldn’t have been tighter – just as we wrapped up portraits, light rain began to fall. Within minutes of leaving, the skies opened into a torrential downpour. It felt like we had captured those moments just in time.
A Seamless Ceremony at The Jewel Event Centre
The ceremony took place at The Jewel Event Centre, a venue that truly came through when the weather shifted. With the help of my amazing assistant Sarah, everything was quickly transitioned indoors. Despite the last-minute change, the ceremony unfolded beautifully and without a hitch – proof that a great team and flexible venue make all the difference.
A Celebration of Culture, Emotion & Elegance
The reception was a vibrant and emotional celebration. Guests enjoyed a mix of traditional Albanian dancing, heartfelt speeches that brought plenty of tears, and a multi-course gourmet dinner. One of the standout moments was the couple’s fairytale first dance, enhanced by a dreamy dry ice effect that added a magical atmosphere to the evening.
A Perfect Ending with Night Portraits
We closed the night with a stunning outdoor portrait session at the ceremony location – originally planned for earlier in the day. It felt especially meaningful to return to that spot and capture a quiet, intimate moment after such a full and joyful celebration. It was the perfect way to end an unforgettable wedding day.
