Downtown Toronto Summer Wedding | Nick & Kristen

A Summer Wedding in Downtown Toronto

August weddings are a favourite for many couples, when gardens and city landscapes are in full bloom. Nick and Kristen embraced the beauty of summer in downtown Toronto by choosing locations that reflected their everyday lives, living and working in the heart of the city.

The day began with the bride getting ready at the elegant One King West Hotel & Residence. From there, Kristen joined Nick and the wedding party at Osgoode Hall for pre-ceremony photos and the much-anticipated dress reveal.

Wedding Party Portraits at Osgoode Hall

Surrounded by Kristen’s two sisters and Nick’s sister as bridesmaids, along with Nick’s childhood friends as groomsmen, the wedding party brought plenty of excitement and energy to the day. The groomsmen added a playful touch during photos, happily announcing to passersby that their friend was “getting married today!”

Kristen looked stunning in a strapless sweetheart lace gown. The bouquets featured flowers in shades of white, dusty rose, light pink, and plum, perfectly complementing the bridal party attire. Bridesmaids wore deep plum strapless gowns, while the groomsmen were dressed in rich dark blue suits with coordinating neckties.

The historic architecture of Osgoode Hall, with its Palladian-style building, wrought-iron fence, and iconic gates, created a dramatic and elegant backdrop for the portraits.

A Romantic Ceremony at Rosewater Supper Club

After the photos, the group made their way on foot to Rosewater Supper Club for the ceremony. The venue’s sparkling chandeliers added a warm and romantic glow as Nick and Kristen exchanged vows surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Wine-Inspired Wedding Reception

The evening’s reception embraced a wine-inspired theme throughout the décor. Nick and Kristen even slipped away for a few photos in the Don Alfonso wine cellar, giving the wine time to “breathe” while capturing a few quiet newlywed moments.

Creative details included wine cork place card holders, fairy-lit wine bottles, and custom wine bottle lanterns decorating the space. Guests toasted the couple with wine and enjoyed the signature cocktail of the night—Nick’s favourite drink, an Espresso Martini.

Memorable Speeches and Surprise Dances

The reception was full of lively entertainment and heartfelt moments. Nick and Kristen surprised their guests with a beautifully choreographed first dance to the song I’ll Be by Edwin McCain.

Later in the evening, the groomsmen returned the favour with a humorous dance performance to Electric Avenue by Eddy Grant, which had the entire room laughing.

Speeches throughout the night struck the perfect balance between humour and emotion. Best man James delivered a particularly memorable speech that had guests laughing one moment and wiping away tears the next.

Moonlit Wedding Portraits in Downtown Toronto

As the evening came to a close, Nick and Kristen stepped outside for a few final portraits on the moonlit streets of downtown Toronto. The quiet city backdrop created the perfect setting for intimate newlywed photos, ending their celebration on a romantic note.
