A Bilingual Summer Wedding in Richmond Hill
L’amour était dans l’air…love was truly in the air for Sandy and Patrick’s August wedding in Richmond Hill. The French and English-speaking couple honoured their bilingual roots with a heartfelt celebration surrounded by childhood and high school friends who made up their lively wedding party.
Their ceremony took place at Saint‑Louis‑De‑France Church, followed by wedding portraits at Richmond Green Park. The evening concluded with a vibrant reception at St. George Centre.
Golden Hour Wedding Photos at Richmond Green Park
The timing for the portraits couldn’t have been more perfect. Late summer sunlight cast a soft golden glow across Richmond Green Park, creating a beautiful atmosphere for wedding photography.
One of the park’s most stunning features is its picturesque waterfall, which served as the backdrop for some of Sandy and Patrick’s first portraits as newlyweds. The warm evening light and lush greenery made the setting especially magical.
Elegant Summer Wedding Style
The couple chose a soft pastel colour palette that complemented the late summer setting. Elegant rose and gold accents appeared throughout the wedding details, from Sandy’s accessories to the invitations and stationery.
Sandy looked radiant in a crisp white lace gown featuring an intricate open back. The bridesmaids wore light lavender dresses, while the groomsmen sported coordinating tuxedos with lavender accents that tied the look together beautifully.
Their fun-loving wedding party kept the energy light and joyful throughout the day, filling the photoshoot with laughter and playful moments.
Music, Dancing, and Memorable Performances
The celebration continued with a lively reception filled with laughter, inside jokes, and even an impromptu conga line. Guests were treated to two standout performances during the evening.
Sandy and Patrick shared their romantic first dance to Everything by Michael Bublé, enhanced by dramatic dry ice that created a dreamy effect, perfect for black-and-white photographs.
Later, two talented groomsmen entertained guests with a spirited rendition of Ain’t That a Kick in the Head by Dean Martin, bringing plenty of laughter and applause from the crowd.
Sunset and Sparkler Wedding Portraits
As the evening sun dipped lower, we stepped outside for a few additional portraits. The glowing late-summer sunset provided a stunning backdrop for the couple.
Sandy and Patrick had brought sparklers with them, allowing us to end the night with some creative illuminated portraits. The sparkling light added a magical finishing touch to their beautiful Richmond Hill wedding celebration. ✨
