Unique Midnight Wedding Ceremony at the Toronto Golf Club | Shannon & Spencer

Shannon and Spencer’s wedding at the beautiful Toronto Golf Club was anything but traditional. Instead of following the typical wedding day timeline, the couple completely flipped the schedule to honour a meaningful family date. They wanted their official wedding date to fall on May 31st — the anniversary of Shannon’s grandparents — but didn’t want to host a Sunday wedding. Their creative solution? A magical midnight ceremony that became the unforgettable finale of their celebration.

A Private Ceremony Before the Celebration

The day began with an intimate and private ceremony witnessed only by the photographer and assistant, allowing Shannon and Spencer to share a quiet moment together before the festivities began. Afterward, guests arrived and the celebration unfolded much like a traditional wedding reception — but with the ceremony still to come later in the evening.

Friends and family enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and a lively dance floor throughout the night. The couple also included fun, relaxed activities that encouraged everyone to mingle and enjoy the beautiful outdoor setting, including lawn games like bean bag toss, giant Jenga, and Connect 4.

Rainy Wedding Day with a Perfect Portrait Window

Despite torrential rain throughout most of the day and evening, the weather miraculously cleared for the exact hour scheduled for formal portraits. The grounds of the Toronto Golf Club looked dreamy under the soft, hazy light that followed the storm.

Shannon and Spencer embraced the wet conditions without hesitation, cruising around the property in a decorated golf cart and even trekking through the rain-soaked forest to capture romantic portraits among the lush greenery.

A Midnight Ceremony to Remember

As midnight approached, guests gathered for the official ceremony that would make their wedding date truly meaningful. With everyone well fed, a few glasses of wine enjoyed, and plenty of dancing already behind them, the midnight ceremony felt like the perfect and heartfelt way to close the celebration.

The atmosphere was joyful, relaxed, and full of love — a unique ending to a wedding day that perfectly reflected Shannon and Spencer’s personalities and priorities.
