Orthodox Baptism at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church

The baptism at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church was a special day for this family after a long wait. The ceremony had originally been planned the previous year but had to be postponed due to COVID restrictions. A year later, everyone was finally able to gather together to celebrate.

Orthodox baptisms are full of meaningful traditions, and this ceremony followed the beautiful customs of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Surrounded by parents, godparents, and close family, the baby was baptized in the church’s traditional font while the priest performed the prayers and blessings.

After the ceremony, we spent some time taking family portraits inside the church. It was a lovely way to document such an important milestone and celebrate a day that had been a long time coming for the family.
